I have wires set up for two outdoor speakers and 3 sonos play 1's that I would like to add to out exhisting sonos system. Our exhisting system has a sonos connect running an amp that conrols 6 sets of ceiling speakers and a radio. Can the sonos amp run two wired in speakers and three sonos play 1's? What specs on the speakers do I need to look for to be compatible with the sonos amp? Or what would I need to add two wired in speakers and three sonos play 1's to our exhisting system?
Hello, I allowed a friend to use my speakers for Thanksgiving and they may have re-registered my system on their network. Now my speakers are back home and I can not figure out where to go or what to do in order to get them to work at my home again. i realize I may have lost my saved items which is fine... I just want to get it working! Sarah
I have a question regarding how the connect:amp auto play feature works. Based on the user manual, it appears the amp will detect once Alexa is outputting audio. So for example, if streaming audio from within the sonos app and I said "Alexa what is the forecast", sonos streaming would stop and I would hear the forecast from Alexa. Can someone tell me what would happen after the forecast is complete? Would sonos streaming resume or would it be on pause? Thanks!
I have been using Sonos for several years. I discovered this morning that my Sonos Bridge can not be located/connected. I have gone through the troubleshooting steps but no luck. Upon further research I have learned the Bridge is discontinued. What to do? As anyone else found a solution when the Bridge does not connect or am I out of luck and now have to upgrade to the more expensive Boost?
I've recently acquired an Audio Technica AT-LP120 turntable and am looking into connecting it to my Sonos system. I've scoured the forums and am pretty sure about the answer, but thought I'd double check with you guys. The turntable has a built-in preamp, so am I right in assuming that I can wire it to a Connect and stream it to my Sonos speakers without the need for a separate amplifier? There won't be any speakers wired directly to the turntable (I've already got a Connect:Amp wired to some Cambridge Audio floorstanders in the living room, but the boss won't allow a turntable in there!). Thanks in advance.
I have a 15 speaker Sonos system and if I add more than like 5 speakers to one music source then it cuts out. Not all the speakers cut out and seems like one here and one there. I should say 4-5 rooms. As some rooms have up to 4 speaker surround sound systems. I asked Best Buy and they said I needed to change the channels on some of the rooms. Not sure how to do this. Another person said I needed an additional connect. Help??
Hello, There's a simple question: I would like to be completely free to play whatever sound in my cellphone as well as: my music, my sound i record playing my guitar with my doughter, the sound I do with some apps (drums, keyboards...), and any free app (not premium) for instance Spotify free... I use an Iphone, and I like to do that... Is the SONOS CONNECT, with the LINE IN, and plugging my cell, able to do that?? Thanks
Hi! Create a surround setup, and disable it requires a bit of work both in app and touch of buttons. Its nothing you want to do every day the way it is done now. To have full joy for music and other stuff, it is often better to have the two rear speakers as stereo or even single speakers. Would be perfect if Sonos could make an easy solution to switch these two modes. Thoughts? Have not found a way to do this today.
Hi Im going away for the weekend to a cottage that has broadband but possibly not direct access to the router. I wish to take my play 1 pair plus sub. At home, my sub is bonded to connect amp. Can anyone please tell me the steps required for the play 1s and sub to work together at the cottage and also still integrate straight back into my existing setup when i return home? Thanks
I have Apple Music on my Sonos setup and when I select a Playlist I get a list of the tracks in that playlist and to the left artwork for each track is displayed. However, to the top left there is a large square within which is only displayed four horizontal red lines and a music symbol. If the playlist I have selected consists of one album with all tracks having the same original album cover artwork displayed, is there any way this large square can also display the same album cover?
I am a SONOS novice , just got a set of PLAY1's and already I am itching to buy more , very impressed . As I say I am a novice so sorry if my simple questions irritate, however , I was looking at the SONOS connect amp , and see it can be used to hook up to existing wired speakers , I also see it has analog inputs , my questions are , 1 Can I connect the amp via analog cables to my existing Sony HiFi , connect up my wired speakers and have Play 1 speakers in a remote room and play all at same time and also control separately with Sonos app 2. If I play a CD on my Sony HiFi will the amp send to all speakers including the remote Play 1 s
Are there any significant differences between the First Generation Connect Amp and the current generation? I know that the first gen is a good deal larger than the current generation but I'm curious if there are any compatibility or software limitations with the current Amp being used on my new Sonos system. Thanks.
I realise this is a bit of an "old chestnut" topic, but thought my experience may be of interest to anyone going this route. Had a rather nice Xmas present of Sennheiser RS 175 wireless phones. These have a digital optical input (cable supplied) as well as the usual analog inputs. Wired this to my Sonos Connect optical output (the Connect is powering my conventional Hi Fi system) The result is very pleasing, works a treat with Sonos. The sound quality is all I could wish for & the range seems more than adequate for our 3 bed house.
