I’ve had my sonos amp for only a few times and ive noticed sometimes when I play music it only comes out of one side (either left or right) for a little while then it eventually works out of both. I’m not sure if this is exclusively an airplay thing or not. Does this happen often to other folks is what I wonder?
Hello all,I’m looking to improve the sound in my golf simulator room by using some of my spare Sonos play 1 speakers which I was hoping to link to my Denon 3700H AVR. I would be obliged if someone could take a look at the connections on the back of the AVR and advise whether this can be connected to a Sonos Port or similar and indeed how I would do so? Many thanks in advance.
I currently have a Denon Receiver with floor-speakers connected to my SONOS system via ZP80. Add to that an LG OLED55B7 with an LG 2.1 Soundbar and LG UltraHD BluRay UBK90. The TV is further connected to a Playstation. The BluRay serves as a CD-player when needed. I may add a turntable to the system in the near future. I am contemplating replacing the Receiver/ZP80 with a SONOS:AMP but I’m concerned that there are too few connectors on the AMP to service this e.g. I can’t use the BluRay as a CD player unless I turn the TV on as well. the TV’s ARC HDMI is noted by LG as only supporting LG Audio. There were known time-lag problems with LG OLED TVs and the SONOS soundbars which is why I went with an LG soundbar. Is my analysis correct? Also is the AMP forever tied to having to work in SONOS report-to-base mode?
I have a Rega Planar 1 plus which I will play through Sonos. To do so I was going to buy a Port. I also want in the near future to buy a CD player to play the 100s of CDs I have tucked away. I’m assuming the turntable and CD player will each need either a Sonos Port or Amp or will either run two devices? Also, will I need to buy a pre amp for the CD player?
Need to know how to connect Sonos Amp to two existing (wired) bookshelf speakers AND in-wall Sonos speakers through the house. Do I connect an amp to the bookshelf speakers, making them wireless? If so, suggestions?
I need a connect and amp or not included but Something that has more INs and OUTs. Digital, Optical, and what not. My current solution is using a mixer and inputting that into the line in on a Connect Amp. Expensive and not so great quality of doing it. While you consider paying me as a developer consultant and tester, you also need a mobile device. I would control such device with a dash mounted tablet and post Sonos a DSP controller, multi amps. I would use a Connect but now back to the no flexibility and on inputs :(
Hi All, Very much a noice when it comes to record players and was looking for some advice. I bought the sonos record player and play 5 and am in the process of setting it up but the instructions are not the best...is there a youtube video or sonos video i can watch to install? Thanks Kunal
Hello! I have recently changed my router and I am trying to reconnect my SONOS. I followed the instructions, using the ethernet cable and my SONOS is working perfectly. However, I would like to reconenect wirelessly, but the SONOS application does not give me the option of wireless setup. This means, that there exists in the menu as option, but I cannot choose it. Any ideas are welcome. Thank you in advance Kelly
Greetings all My family home has a playbar with the sub, they hooked it up through an optical cable to their TV, however the sound doesn’t play unless it’s activated through the app… there is a bit of a language barrier as my parents don’t speak any la gauge besides russian every time they turn on the tv the sound simply wount play unless it’s activated through the app on my fathers phone… it’s technically fine but my mum isn’t tech savvy, nor does she understand the language, so every time she is alone it’s the tiny built in tv speaker that’s inbuilt that plays. Is there any way to have the bar turn on with the Telly or are we just stuck with this 2 step process every time we want to watch something?
I’ve frozen my system at V8.4 as have a few others. We are all aware that this means there is no possibility of adding new components to our systems without creating a new separate parallel system. However I believe it would be possible for us to use each others equipment, so if there is anyone else out there with a v8.4 system who wants to move on and enter Sonos brave new world and get rid of their legacy v8.4 kit in the UK I would be interested so please PM me.
I’ve installed the Sonos Amp, which is powering x6 ceiling speakers (all wired via a splitter). Everything working great, but when I go to turn the volume high, the music cuts out. I’m playing music via Spotify, and the slide bar gets to around ¾ along when it cuts out. it’s loud at that point but I wouldn’t say it’s near maximum ( or as loud as my old Sonos: connect amp got to running the same system) is there anything I can do, is there a volume limit I’m not aware of? Thanks
I was trying to instal a tv outside that is about 50’ from my Sonos amp. The Sonos amp is powering two sonance outdoor speakers. Was wondering what is the best way to get a “line in” into the amp to also play the audio from the TV. But I also want to be able to choose to either have the TV play audio from its own speakers or through the sonance speakers. Meaning I may want to listen to the radio through the outdoor sonance and simultaneously play the tv audio through the tv . Or just play the tv audio with no radio through the outdoor speakers. Would it be best to run a 50’ analog or connect the tv to the amp through a 50’ hdmi arc, or do you have any other suggestions Thank you
Merci Sonos!
HiI bought a sonos port and having an issue / unsure if this setup is actually supported...I have a AMP / DAC combo which connects to headphones. I have my Sonos Port connected to Speakers but I also have a digital out connected to the DAC (via coax cable). I want to use the sonos as a digitial audio reciever which can then send the audio to my headohone, via the DAC.I would like to get my sonos to recieve music (works fine) but send this via the digital out to the AMP / DAC so i can listen via my headphones. I think in theory this should work but in practice i cant find anyway to make this happen. Everything is connected fine, the cable via the sonos digital out goes to the digital in of the amp / dac, but tho i select the sonos port no audio is coming through. So is what I want to do possible, if so, how? Thanks!

I had got Sonos Connect AMP when I was in US and recently relocated to India. I tried to connect Sonos Connect AMP AFTER switching the Voltage to 230 ( since I could see only two options 115 and 230 ) but still it is not powering up. Could you please let me know do I need to have a separate power cord for this to support 220V ? Thanks
I am buying 2 amps. One will connect to the front L/R third party speakers. The other will drive built in third party surrounds. I will have a Sonos Sub in the room as well.My question is about the inputs. I have two HDMI inputs between the two amps. Is there a way too switch between them in this setup. Or, if I have an optical connection from a CD player, can I listen to it in my system by connecting it to the second amp? The tv woukd be in the first one.Thank you
Ever since the most recent Sonos app update (Dec 14), every time I try to use the system, it requires me to go through the entire setup from the beginning. I get a screen asking to select Sonos products, and I have to go through the entire setup procedure with all the speakers. I have two (2) Sonos Play:5 speakers set up to play in stereo, one (1) Playbar, and a Boost. This is a new problem that started with the Dec 14 app update. I would greatly appreciate any help with this. Thank you!
