Hi, I have an old electric piano which I would normally connect to a mixer, and then to an amp/speaker combination. I also have 2 Sonos 5's (in our living room). I am thinking of moving the piano to the living room. If I got a Connect, would I be able to use my piano with my Sonos 5's? What does the Connect 'expect', in terms of a signal? Many thanks.
A single gen2 play 5 seems to have more punch and clarity of bass than when I link two of them in a stereo pair I'm sure it's to do with phasing and speaker placement (they are about 4m apart at the moment and to be honest I haven't fiddled round with that) - but equally I kind of assumed true play would sort that, but this happens before and after true play Anyone else had this?
Recently, my ZP100 that I used outside (for the past 8 years) was continually dropping out so I tried to clean it, blow out the dust and moved it inside. Still it would drop out. So i thought maybe it is the mesh connection and moved it to be the unit that connects to my router in my home office. That seemed to work but then it still dropped out. However, weirdly, it can act as the base unit for all the rest of my mesh (7 other units) but basically doesn't show up on the Sonos app nor does it play music in my home office. SO, short situation, it works fine as the base unit but drops off the Sonos app and doesn't play music. I have done factory resets etc.
Hello if I may ask for some advice before any purchase, I live in a converted barn and the main living area is large with 5m vaulted ceiling and I wanted to ask how Sonos would perform in this space as our present and old 5.1 system when playing a movie seems to lose clarity on speech with all the background noise whereas watching say sky news with just the newscaster speaking is clear and I think it's the room and want to change to an updated better quality system and thought the experience of folks in this community maybe able to add some wisdom as to what sonos set up would work best, thank you
I have a sub, a playbar and two play 5. I set them up as a Surround group. Is it possible to creatie a different group or room with only the two play 5 (the same) and the sub, so I can choose the Surround group for television and the 5's and sub for music playing. If the answer is yes, how can I do that?
Hello, I’m having trouble finding a clear cut answer to my question and was wondering if you could help? I have a Play 1, 3 and 5 and want to hook up a turntable to them. I know I need a pre amp if the turntable doesn’t have one, but I’m not sure if I need anything else. Can I hook it up directly to my Play 5 and it will be in the ecosystem to where I can play it on any of my Sonos speakers and it will still sound good? Or do I need to purchase a Connect or a Connect Amp to have the turntable play on all my speakers? If I need a Connect will that suffice and sound good or do I need a Connect Amp and and will that make it sound better than using just a Connect? Basically, what do I need to get a turntable in my Sonos ecosystem and have it sound good? Thanks, Kit
Just got off SONOS support (good, by the way). I had purchased a Bluetooth receiver to plug into Line In on a CONNECT:AMP so I can play Audiobooks on my iPod Touch. Sound out to the speakers connected to the CONNECT:AMP but not to the upstairs SONOS 3. Support spent some time with me. Finally we tried just exchanging the Bluetooth receiver for audio output directly from the iPod audio jack. Worked. So, I guess it is my problem, not SONOS. Leaves me to try and figure out why the line in from the bluetooth receiver connection just half works.
I have a connect linked with a Onkyo Receiver. It works via optical cable really well (I have also 2 Play5 + 1 Play 1). Now I got a Pioneer Turntable - Pre Amplifier. I would like to connect with SONOS Connect and Receiver too? I have tried some in/out puts, but without success. Could you advise the best way, please?
I have rigged up a technics turntable to a preamp to a connect. The sound is low but sounds like its on full blast. I played an album which came with a digital download and the digital sounded way better, more fullsome, greater bass. I am just wondering what i am doing wrong. Thanks
