I have surround sound for my tv so a Sonos sound bar, sub and a pair of Sonos ones, a play 5 and a one in the kitchen but I’m building an extension and want to fit a pair of ceiling speakers for the TV, I don’t want to use it with anything else other than Sonos equipment, so do I need an amp?

No, you don’t need an Amp for your existing setup. Only if you want to add ceiling speakers to your Sonos ecosystem.

But I don’t need an amp for the existing set up?

Yes, you would need to power the ceiling speakers with a Sonos Amp. The Amp would then connect wirelessly to your Sonos sound bar.

FYI, for a home theater setup with a Sonos sound bar, you can only use a pair of ceiling speakers as rear surround speakers, and they would replace any current speakers you have connected as surrounds.
