Connect Gen 2: Will it work within the most current ecosystem?

Hey everyone.  I am brand spanking new to using any Sonia components at all.  My father has his entire home, including a hifi Klipsch based HT set up with a connect and THREE outdoor zones (maybe 9 zones total. He’s AALLLLL in!) connected so I am not new to using Sonos. 
 

Well, I’ve finally relented on my passion for only using wired hi-fi set ups exclusively.   I would now like to use a Connect gen 2 that i will be buying from an eBay seller to save a bit since I’m also buying 2-3 Sonos Ones. 
 

MY QUESTION IS:  Does a Connect gen 2 work with Sonos’s most current app/ecosystem??

Will it work with the S2 app??

Yes, the Connect (Gen 2) is compatible with the S2 app. Read more here:
