Apologies, I have tried to search and only confused myself even more.

I had a ZP100 that was connected to a Sonance CR101 SST (this is 8ohm nominal, 6ohm minimum)  stereo wired in parallel to some mission bookshelf speakers, that were 8ohm nominal. This worked for many years.

The ZP100 has now been replaced with an Amp, and I now have some new bookshelf speakers, spec says they are 6ohm nominal, 4 ohm minimum.

Can I use these new 6ohm speakers be wired in parallel with the 8ohm Sonance with the Amp?

Music wont be played loud, just background music.

That likely won’t work.  I would get an impedance matching speaker switch to avoid any potential issues.
