Now that the 'on your phone' option on the sonos app has been removed, i was wondering if i were to purchase a sonos amp would i be able to 'air play' to this and still individually control to the speakers i have connected to the amp? Thanks

According to the specs on the Sonos website, it does have the ability to be the recipient of an AirPlay 2 signal.

Individual volume controls of all of your speakers has nothing to do with what is being played on them. So, yes, you'd still have control over the volume of the speakers connected to the Sonos Amp.
Okay great. Probably the best way to go rather than replacing all the speakers I have.
It's an expensive option. I'd consider adding a Sonos One, which would serve the same purpose, although it wouldn't power an external set of speakers.

I frequently group my non-AirPlay 2 Sonos speakers with those that are AirPlay 2 capable.
