2 amps and 2 inputs

I am buying 2 amps. One will connect to the front L/R third party speakers. The other will drive built in third party surrounds. I will have a Sonos Sub in the room as well.

My question is about the inputs. I have two HDMI inputs between the two amps. Is there a way too switch between them in this setup. Or, if I have an optical connection from a CD player, can I listen to it in my system by connecting it to the second amp? The tv woukd be in the first one.

Thank you

I am 99.9% sure that the HDMI connection on the Amp cannot be used when the Amp is being used for surround speakers.  The analog line in is definitely not enabled.

The best way to connect your CD player would be to use the RCA analog line in on the Amp that is driving the front speakers.

Some might say that an even better solution would be to rip your CDs in lossless format to a NAS drive and sell the CD player, but I concede that some people like physical media.
