I'm having trouble with this thread. Started yesterday after posts hit page ten.

I click the notification link from the email and it briefly says the server can't be reached, then it pops up the first page of the thread. I click on page 10 at the bottom and it goes right back to the top of page 1.

With the new community design this should be behaving better. Can you guys let us know if you have any trouble with longer threads still? Let us know the link to them too please.

I can't get to the last page of this thread

Just goes to page 1 when I click the thread link and when I click page 6 just stays at page 1

When I posted this I could get to the last post by navigating to n-1 (Where n= No of pages) and then clicking n at the bottom. Now I can't get to the last post/page at all.

And post editing is broken as well? Click the button and the throbber just keeps on spinning. (On multiple machines, so not a local browser cache issue.)

There's also a problem with the (in)famous Zp 24/96 thread too. This is the last directly accessible post. The link to the next post is broken, and from there on.

Thanks Stuart, I'll update the team working on it. It seems to be some trouble accessing the last pages on long throughs right now , hopefully we hear some more soon.

Add this to it if it helps: I can't see the text of what was written because I can't get to the page (I only know there is a response because I got the notification email), but if I type a response anyway at the bottom of whatever page I am on, it then brings me to the last page once I hit 'post reply.'

If it helps, it seems threads over five pages long are affected. Even when typing in the next page's url, it reverts back to the top of the first page. For example... page two in the spam thread:

Note the index2.html. Change the 2 to a 3 and you're on the third page. All work through 5, but change it to 6 and it goes to the top of the first page... can't move beyond page five.

Takes me to the top of the first page. Next time I clicked it to verify, it said the page didn't exist, then the page showed up.

The thread has just flowed over onto its 10th page. I can now jump to the last page, but I can't then navigate back a page to the 9th page.

That is the latest notification email from that thread, ie. just now.
It doesn't take me to the post. Just to the beginning of the thread, ie. a month ago

There has been one improvement. The "Newest First" toggle now works intermittently.

Sometimes the button looks like this, and it does nothing



Other times it looks like this, and does work



The jump to page 9 still doesn't work.

Same here Barry. If I follow either link, selecting the right arrow at the bottom just stays on page 1. I've had the issue for as long as I can remember. FF on Android.

Sometimes it'll take a few seconds to jump to that new post, so make sure you give the page time to fully resolve.

@BarryM, what steps do you have to get the newest posts to be visible on that thread? You mentioned using Newest First but I just want to confirm that. To make sure, if you open it in your normal Chrome tab, go to the "last page" it loads up the 9th page in this case and you don't see the newest posts?
There is no way to see the newest posts to that thread using Chrome on my PC (other than going incognito).

At one time toggling to Newest First did work, but doesn't work now.

Attempting to go to last page by any of the ways listed on my previous post just takes me to the first page,

Same here. I get wonky results from clicking the email link... like just now. Took me to the top of the page. Others its a guess where I'll end up when I click. Probably explains why they're incapable of providing the text of the post responded to in that email after close to a year.

Just wondering, if you go incognito mode on Chrome does the issue persist? Also, do you have this trouble on any other long threads that you can tell? I know it might be hard to determine but maybe if you swap the Newest first and Oldest first you can see if the right ones show up.
Toggle to newest first does not do anything for that thread. Neither does direct navigation via clicking on the last page number, neither does patiently creeping up on it with the ">>". Neither does a direct link to teh page from a forum email, nor a link from within a forum member's account screen. ... all just take me to the thread's 1st page.

Surprisingly (to me) it works ok in Chrome's incognito mode.

This is the first thread that has given me this problem.
