Now that Sonos does nothave a direct interface with Iphones, what is the best way to use iPhone playlists?

RonP,

Apple provides at least four ways to do this to different Sonos devices, but it depends on which products you have...

  1. Via Bluetooth to Sonos Move or Bluetooth Receiver attached to a speaker with line-in capability, eg Play: 5/Connect etc.
  2. Via AirPlay2 to Beam/Play 5 (Gen2)/PlayBase/Amp/Move/Sonos One (Gen1/2/SL) of Apple AE to a speaker with line-in capability, eg Play: 5/Connect etc. Note you can group the devices with non-AirPlay compliant speakers too.
  3. Using the iTunes library on a PC/Mac and sharing it as a Sonos library on the local network (PC needs to be on so it’s perhaps best to use NAS instead).
  4. Using an Apple Music subscription.

Those are just off the top of the head… I’m sure there are some other ways to do this too.

Hope that Assists👍

Hi RonP

The best way without investing in a NAS device or subscribing to Apple Music is to use the Airplay feature on your iPhone in conjunction with your Play 5 (Gen2). After you start music on your Play 5 via Airplay you can group-in other non-airplay speakers to enjoy the music.  In Grouping you still have ability to adjust the volume as a group or by individual speaker.

Cheers!
