I have a Sonos Boost that all my S2 Sonos devices are connected quite happily to. 
 

I have a pair of Play 5 Gen 1s on the S1 app. These are connected to my normal WiFi (as I can see WM1 in the settings). I’d like to get them onto Sonosnet at as well as we have a busy WiFi area that causes interference here however in the S1 app Sonosnet is greyed out. 
 

If I Ethernet one of my play 5s into my router will it then create another Sonosnet for its paired Play 5? 

Yes, a separate SonosNet will be created for your S1 system when you connect a Play:5 to ethernet.

Correct. The other should automaticallly switch across to SonosNet. If after a couple of mins it hasn’t, then you can reboot the wireless device and it should join when it reboots.

You would then set your wifi to one of the clear channels, 1 6 11 and your two Sonosnets to each of the others.

Good idea. I already have my wifi and the existing Sonosnet on 1 and 11. 

It’s all working correctly. Zero dropouts or skipped tracks in six hours of listening.
