Hi, I own a Sonos beam and I would like to connect it both to the optical port on my computer and to the HDMI ARC port on my tv. At the moment I have to use the optical to HDMI that is included in the box for my computer and one cable to my Tv. When I want to switch between the devices I have to switch the cords since there is only one HDMI port on the beam. I tried using a regular HDMI switch but no luck. Is there a better way, is there some kind of HDMI switch that supports ARC?

When I search on Amazon, yes, there do appear to be claims on switches that support HDMI-ARC.
How is the computer supposed to generate HDMI-ARC? I think you'd have better luck with:
- optical from the TV, and
- optical from the computer, feeding
- an optical switch, outputting to
- the optical-to-HDMI dongle and thence the Beam

There wouldn't be HDMI-CEC control of the TV by the Beam, but that's the price you pay.
