Last week a serious vulnerability in OpenSSL was announced; dubbed the Heartbleed bug, this flaw affects a core library used to protect private communications around the web. Heartbleed has the potential for wide-reaching impact and has prompted Sonos to conduct a thorough security audit of our products and systems.

Following our investigation, we have determined that Sonos Players and Controllers were not affected by this bug. We found the potential for exposure on some services related to Sonos.com and have taken steps to eliminate all known issues. We found no indication of any breach of customer data and are continuing to monitor for further developments. We will take action if more vulnerabilities are uncovered.

Because this event has impacted so many services around the Internet, we recommend that you update your password on Sonos.com. We also recommend that you change your password for any Partner Music Services, particularly if you use the same password for multiple sites.

As always, protecting the privacy of our customers data is of the utmost importance to Sonos. If you have concerns about the integrity of your information, please contact us at support@sonos.com
