Nobody is forcing you to activate Alexa. Even the Sonos One operates as just another Sonos speaker if you never enable the skill. Plus, the same device is going to support Google and Airplay 2.
true... never felt forced at all....but sonos was better off not partnering.... do you have a 1?

Not perfect but very acceptable........even the wife likes alexa !
