Sonos - Symfonisk - Alexa

Bonjour,

Hello,
Alexa voice control: yes, but!

While most Sonos products incorporate Amazon’s Alexa voice control directly, Symfonisk devices do not. Neither the lamp speaker nor the shelf speaker have built-in microphones. So there is no direct voice control with Alexa, as on Sonos One or Sonos Beam.

But, you can still control the Symfonisk speakers via:

Alexa with a device equipped with an Alexa compatible microphone,
But also with the latest Sonos speakers including Alexa
Sonos One: €229 per unit (in black or white)
Sonos Subwoofer 700 €
Sonos Playbar also at €669 (read the test)
Sonos Beam soundbar at €449
Amazon Alexa with your smartphone.

Seeing this, I wonder about the compatibility with an installation (Sonos Beam + Speakers SYMFONISK and Amazon Echo) to stream sound (Streaming Musical) or try to create speaker groups and possibly include them in a routine.

Can you do that?

Thank you for your answers.

Hi @Shimano.

Thanks for reaching out and welcome to the community!

I appreciate your detailed post here, let me help and check it for you.

You can Set up an Amazon Alexa device to control Sonos, but the functions of the service might differ depending on how you are going to set up your system/speakers.

This article will help you set up an Amazon Alexa device, like an Echo or Echo Dot, to control Sonos. You can also add Amazon Alexa directly to your voice-enabled Sonos speaker. See our article on setting up Amazon Alexa with a voice-enabled Sonos speaker to learn how.

Hopefully, that helps and if you have any questions feel free to reach out, we’re always here to help.
