Hi Edward R

Thanks for replying, if you could forward this suggestion as I’m sure I’m not the only frustrated by this limitation.

Thanks
Paul

Is the limitation on Sonos' part or Amazon. I've read this which implies its Sonos, yet most replies in these forums point the finger at Amazon. Is there a clear technical answer out there..?
I too would like to know when this feature will be added.
I think we all would like to know. I don't know if Amazon has opened up this feature to non-echo products just yet, but imagine that info is available on the internet if it is. Besides that, I don't know if the Sonos One or Beam has the hardware to implement the feature. On top of that, I have no idea what the level of development effort is, how much Amazon is making themselves available to coordinate development and testing, and then where it logically fits in Sonos's priority list. I would guess that Google integration takes higher priority at the moment.

I don't think there is an implication that it's Sonos, I think it's a clear statement that there is a need for some features to have code within the device itself and in the instance of calling, a VOIP. stack is required.

Given that calling is now available on the Eufy Genie, https://www.androidpolice.com/2018/08/06/eufy-genie-catches-amazon-echos-new-calling-messaging-abilities/, it looks like it's down to Sonos, rather than Amazon, to implement it on the Play One.
Has anyone tried using an echo product with alexa in the same room as a sonos with alexa ? as it would be interesting to see what happens when the call someone is asked ??
