Hello there Just bought Sonos One. Was as very excited about using in combination with Alexa functionality. However when I am in the Sonos app, when I tap on the "Voice Services" button, I get a message that this service is not available in my country. I am based in Athens Greece. Any suggestions ?
I've silenced the start chime for Amazon Alexa commands on my Sonos One devices (part of a 5.1 setup). It seems to turn back on anytime power is cut to one or both of them and they are powered back on again. In the Sonos app, the option is still disabled. I can re-disable them by turning the option on and them off again, but this seems like a bug if the option indicates one thing and the speaker behaves differently. Does anyone know if this is a known issue and if it's being addressed?
Alexa and Sonos integration has to be one of the most frustrating experiences I’ve had with technology. Asking to play music works for about a day, then it will stop playing when I request to play music. I’m using Apple Music but the same problem exists if I request iheartradio. It says it’s playing, but nothing plays and the Alexa app shows no music playing. I’m using a Sonos Ones. If I request from an echo dot, it works. The only way I can get it working from Sonos again is to remove and re-add the Sonos skill to Alexa. Is there any permanent fix that doesn’t involve throwing the whole thing in the bin and getting HomePods instead?
In native Amazon devices, follow-up mode on Alexa does not kick in when music is being streamed. This is better because it minimises the muted mode (when Alexa is listening), which allows the music to play at normal volume asap. I have noticed that Alexa on Sonos does not discriminate and always goes into follow-up mode if the feature is enabled. As a result, songs start playing at their normal volume ~5 seconds into the song when I use Alexa to request it, and mid-song volume changes are more disruptive than they could be. May I please request that Alexa on Sonos behaves in the same way as the native Amazon Echo devices in this regard?
Hey guys, I'm having a really weird user experience w/ the Sonos Beam and Alexa. I can easily command Alexa to turn off my TV (a Sharp SmartTV), but Alexa will not turn on the TV. According to your article (https://support.sonos.com/s/article/3514?language=en_US), this functionality should be supported. Can you help me understand why this isn't working? Maybe I missed a step during setup or something. Thanks!
This is basically to all the NUBs like I was/am if you’ve jut bought a SONOS One, and your trying to connect the Alexa to it, and your at the end of your thread, don’t throw it through the window just yet, sign out of ALL amazon apps/shopping etc... and re-set up your speaker, it should work then, have patience it will work.
very very annoying. Pandora, Sonos Play 1(2 in stereo mode), Alexa , android No way I can keep a constant volume. sometimes song starts out very low and increases volume on own. Sometimes I have to increase volume using my tablet in either Sonos or Alexa app. First, I had the repeating song issue, that seems to be resolved now this. All I want to do is sit back and enjoy my music without having.to actively manipulate controls. tx
I just purchased the Amp, and am ready to return it. I’ve got it hooked up to my TV, using the ARC HDMI connections, and two speakers and a sub. All good, TV audio is great. I use the Sonos app to switch to music, Music audion is all good (not quite as nice as my old Denon Amp, but I like the convenience. The problem comes when I want to switch control back to the TV...

I try using the official commands on Alexa to change mode to TV - Worked one time out of over 30 tries. Note: this was using both the room name AND the room name + TV.
I try using the Sonos App to change the mode back - There’s no option.
I try switching the TV Source to Sonos Amp and back to normal input - Does Not Work.
The ONLY way to get it to happen (semi-reliably) is to turn the TV off and back on. This is NOT a viable option. Unless someone has some idea on how to make this seamless, the Amp has to go back. I REALLY wan
I have a Sonos Play 1 in my kitchen a Connect Amp in my lounge and an Echo... I had a group called downstairs which included both Sonos speakers and up till recently, I have been able to say... Play xxxxxxxx on downstairs and it played fine. Rrecently however, Alexa keeps on saying 'I can't play music on the group yet' and I should setup a multi-room group on the Alexa app. When I go into the Alexa app, my 2 Sonos speakers are not visible in the multi-room group setup screen... Help!
I have 3 rooms with Sonos speakers in each. I’ve connected audible to all and Amazon music. They all have Alexa. Amazon music works in every room. I can just say “Alexa play ...” in every room, and the speakers in the room play music. However, I can only say “Alexa read...” in the first room I set up. All the speakers say “Reading ...” but they never read any of the audible books (except for the speakers in the first room I set up). I called support for Sonos and they could not figure it out since Amazon music works just fine. Has anyone experienced this? audible does work if I start if from the Sonos app and select the room.
Purchased a Sonos Beam yesterday. Setup went well except when I went to add Alexa voice capability. Sonos would not respond. Mic was not lit white. Couldn’t get mic light to illuminate. Thought it was defective. I added and re-added the Alexa skill and even uninstalled Alexa and Sonos apps rebooted my router and factory reset Sonos. Mic would not turn on when adding Alexa as a voice source. I tested that Sonos was seen by Alexa by using my Echo device. That worked for control but Sonos mic was still not working I than tried google assistant and the mic illuminated and worked. However I need this to work where my services reside. So I went to bed and woke up to give it one more shot. I noticed when adding Alexa it asks you to sign into Amazon. It was launching my Amazon app to do this and since I was signed in the Amazon shopping app it simply flashed the logo and kicked me back to Sonos app. I assumed that it auto logged me in as the functionality of controlling Sonos still work

I have a fairly large backyard that was already setup 2 pairs of outdoor speakers powered by a Sonos Amp. Everything was great, except that I found myself constantly wishing I could control the system by voice as I could do from within my house. There were other smart lights and such that I also wanted to be able to control while outside, not to mention the normal Alexa questions about weather and such. I had a spare echo dot that I could bring outside and plug in when I needed, but I found that it wasn't really that practical. For one thing, there wasn't a single place I could put the dot where it would cover the yard very well. What I really needed was a way to place several alexa dots throughout the yard in permanent spots, and protected well from the elements. Here's what I came up with. The general idea is that a cheap outdoor speaker could be the perfect container for an echo dot. The trick would be to find one that would fit a dot, hold it firmly, and allow the dot to hear an
I have 2 Sonos One speakers in the same large room. I don't want stereo as I want both speakers to play the same thing, not separate channels. I can control the volume either separately or together using the app but via Alexa it only changes one speaker. Is there any likelihood that this will be made possible in the near future?
