I have the Sonos Beam & Roam. It plays Apple Music through the app… BUT it will not play Apple Music through voice controlled Alexa on the Beam or Roam. I have disabled services, disabled skills, deregistered devices, deleted apps, reset services and it will not work. HELP! PLEASE!
I have 8 Sonos AMP, 1 Sonos Playbar, and 1 Sonos Move. The AMPs and the Playbar are connected to a Sonos Bridge, which is itself hardwired to the router. In the Alexa mobile app, the 8 AMP each have a duplicate entry of the form “[AMP name] TV”This is creating confusion for Alexa voice control.Deleting the duplicate “TV” devices from the Alexa mobile app works for a period of time, but they later reappear.Powering down everything and rebooting everything does not help. The duplicate devices reappear.[Disabling the devices in Alexa doesn't seem to solve the confusion issue, but I recognize that’s not a Sonos issue and not a topic for this forum,]I would like to not have the diupliate entries in the Alexa app.Ideas?
PART 1: I have a Show 5 and Sonos One in my kitchen. I want the Show to be my Alexa device, but would like the One to be my speaker for music in the Kitchen. When playing music, I don't want to have to specify “kitchen” in my commands. I created a group called Kitchen, and added the Show and Sonos One to that group. The Sonos One is set as the speaker for this group the playback option is set to “Always.” Question… Did I set this up right? Should I turn the mic off on the Sonos One? If yes, is there a way to disable the mic so someone (i.e. one of my kids) doesn't press the button and turn on the One’s mic by mistake? PART 2: I have a Sonos Beam in the living room, which is next to the kitchen. It is connected to my TV via HDMI. Sometimes I want to be able to play the same music through both the Sonos One and the Beam. I created a group called Living Room, and then grouped Kitchen and Living Room into a group called Downstairs. Question… Sometimes, when I'm in the kitchen and talking t
My main room TV audio is connected through eARC with Sonos (Arc, Sub, Plays) and other rooms in my place have HomePods. If I am trying to play music throughout the house if I am in-between the room where the Sonos Speakers are and the HomePods are there is a distinct delay in what is being played even though they are all being airpplayed through the same device. This just may be another case of HomePods and Sonos just don’t match well together, but any help would be great- thank you!
Hellocan we adjust the volume by a voice assistant other than from 1 to 10?If we use the TV remote control, it gives us more levethe problem may not be the same for listening to music but for the sound of the television (the 1st operation of a sound bar), we should have a lot more level available the difference between two levels is too great I think it can be fixed with a software update. thank you
I have been trying to set up Alexa as a voice assistant but struggling to get it to show as a service in the Sonos App. I have tried disabling and enabling the skill in Alexa as well as deleting both apps and starting again.
Hi everyone,I primarily use Alexa as my voice control. I've had the Beam (1st gen) for the last 6 months and the mic and Alexa worked just fine. The mic was sensitive but not too much. Today, the mic sensitivity suddenly plunged. I have to stand directly above the Beam and yell "Alexa" for Alexa to recognize the wake command. The only change was last night I added Alexa to my Samsung q60t TV but removed it when I noticed the mic sensitivity drop. Google Assistant works just fine with no mic sensitivity issues. I've seen plenty of posts regarding poor mic sensitivity on Sonos devices for Alexa and I've done the following:- remove Alexa from Beam via Sonos App. - deregister and delete Beam from Alexa- deregister and delete Samsung TV from Alexa- deregister and delete all other Alexa devices (an Echo and Dot)- Factory reset of Beam- Repairing Beam with Alexa. No luck with the above. Called Sonos and they said to call Amazon support. They offered the same fixes with no luck. Wondering if
I just got my first Sonos, a Roam. I have Alexa enabled. I also have Wi-Fi color changing lights from Feit. If tell the Alexa through the Roam to turn on the lights, it’s fine. If I tell it to change to a color, it tells me device not found. This isn’t an issue on my Amazon Alexa devices. Any idea how to fix this? Thank you in advance for your advice.
Hello, if I have an Echo setup with Spotify Account #1 but the Sonos is setup with Spotify Account #2, which Spotify account will be used if I asked Echo to play a song on my Sonos speaker? I am planning to purchase a few Sonos speakers and I have a bunch of Echo’s in the house already so I just wanted to make sure how this all works. Thanks.
I have been living in Japan for years and have had no problem using my America Amazon account to connect to Alexa, but I have decided that I would like to use my Japanese Amazon account for more relevant local information on my new Echo 15 screen. In preparation for moving over, I deregistered and deleted all my Sonos devices from my American account and changed my Sonos address to my Japanese address. But no matter what I try, the Sonos app continues to default to the NA url (North America I assume?) server for Amazon login. My Japanese account obviously wasn’t recognized there. I tried adding Alexa in the Sonos app using a new iPad with no Amazon apps installed hoping that the Sonos app would pick a server based on IP only, with no influence from other signed in apps, but that didn’t work. Are there any other suggestions for forcing the Sonos app to a certain Amazon login page?
I find the Sonos support site most frustrating!! It seems that every topic is discussed for every Sonos product! What happened to the old concept of a user nmanual for each product?A simple question - can I control my Amp using Alexa? I have spent a great deal of time trying to work through “Set up an Amazon Alexa device to control Sonos”, but without any success!!Any ideas?
I have 2 rooms with Sonos equipment in. Let’s say I had to upgrade to the S2 app in this room to get everything working (which I did).If we now turn to another room, in this room I have only one Play:1. I’m putting this speaker on eBay. I have 2, new speakers, a Sonos One and a Sonos One SL. I’m assuming that I will obviously need the S2 app for these 2 speakers in another room? How do I connect these 2 speakers together and add Alexa in this room?ThanksHB
hi, I have recently bought a Sonos move and set up the voice command groups on the Alexa app. the group I have set up is - (named- living room)Sonos Move, 2 x play 1s and a Sonos play bar. When using the voice command that's on the Alexa app (Alexa, play music in the living room), the Sonos move just plays a new song and does not play the grouped speakers. any help with this would be appreciated as its really frustrating?I can group them using the app on my phone, so its not the end of the world lol but as the option for Alexa is there id like to use it. thanks
When I use Pandora via my Echo Show 5, each song repeats once. It doesn't happen with Alexa by itself, only when using Echo, or so I thought. I've think what is happening is both the Alexa app and Echo are trying to control the speakers, so one is repeating the other. I remedied the problem (touch wood) by saying, "Alexa, stop," which stopped all music. I changed the wake word on Echo from Alexa to Echo, so that the Alexa App and Echo don't both respond when I command one. I restarted Pandora using Echo, and now playback is back to only once per song. I've seen two threads about this. Both have been closed for comments, but Sonos indicated they'd look into the problem and then update the thread/s. That was a year ago and, from what I can tell, no solution was ever posted. I'm not sure if my discovery is a permanent fix, or a fix at all for that matter, but I thought it might give users somewhere to start and Sonos some idea as to what to investigate.
