We have Sonos One with Alexa in kitchen and playbar in lounge. We can control playbar through Alexa in kitchen, but of course that’s not very convenient.I don’t want to install an Alexa device in the lounge just to control playbar, which I’m sure is one solution. But what other options are there to control playbar with Alexa? Eg to play a Spotify track on playbar with voice control. We don’t have any other kit with Alexa built-in other than Sonos One.
I have the Sonos Beam & Roam. It plays Apple Music through the app… BUT it will not play Apple Music through voice controlled Alexa on the Beam or Roam. I have disabled services, disabled skills, deregistered devices, deleted apps, reset services and it will not work. HELP! PLEASE!
I have 8 Sonos AMP, 1 Sonos Playbar, and 1 Sonos Move. The AMPs and the Playbar are connected to a Sonos Bridge, which is itself hardwired to the router. In the Alexa mobile app, the 8 AMP each have a duplicate entry of the form “[AMP name] TV”This is creating confusion for Alexa voice control.Deleting the duplicate “TV” devices from the Alexa mobile app works for a period of time, but they later reappear.Powering down everything and rebooting everything does not help. The duplicate devices reappear.[Disabling the devices in Alexa doesn't seem to solve the confusion issue, but I recognize that’s not a Sonos issue and not a topic for this forum,]I would like to not have the diupliate entries in the Alexa app.Ideas?
Hi there. I am aware that currently Sonos’ Alexa Skill is not supported in Brazil. My question is: even though I know that Sonos skill wont work here, if I buy a Sonos Roam and use it in Brazil, will I be able to use it as a voice assistant device over here in portuguese? Use it, for instance, to turn on and off my air conditioner...
I am trying to set up a Group called “everywhere” to play on my 3 Alexa devices, Alexa, Dot and sonos. Group works great for Alexa and Dot. When I try to Add Sonos Alexa app says it is not compatible. All are on the same network and the Alexa app sees all 3 speakers. Starting to get a little disappointed in the Beam. This should not be this hard. Any ideas? I have made sure that everything is on a single account in Alexa. That was an issue in the past with lights, I was logged into my account on my phone and Alexa was set to my wife’s I have since logged into my wife’s alexa app account for the time being in hopes of fixing this.
Hellocan we adjust the volume by a voice assistant other than from 1 to 10?If we use the TV remote control, it gives us more levethe problem may not be the same for listening to music but for the sound of the television (the 1st operation of a sound bar), we should have a lot more level available the difference between two levels is too great I think it can be fixed with a software update. thank you
Hi, I recently purchased the Nest Doorbell (battery) version, it automatically announces when the doorbell is pressed to every device in my house (this is the expected behaviour). I then started manually stopping services from receiveing this notification in the Google Home application by setting those devices to “Do Not Disturb”. However, my Sonos devices (of which I have three serate instances (Beam + 2 Sonos Ones”, Sonos One outdoor (under a patio), Sonos One outdoor (under another patio)) do not provide me an option to set a “Do Not Disturb” for announcements (or broadcast messages). I do not want my outdoor speakers to announce someone is ringing the doorbell. I contacted Google help first and they said to contact Sonos. This thread is the same issue as outlined in this thread from ~1 year ago
Hi everyone,I primarily use Alexa as my voice control. I've had the Beam (1st gen) for the last 6 months and the mic and Alexa worked just fine. The mic was sensitive but not too much. Today, the mic sensitivity suddenly plunged. I have to stand directly above the Beam and yell "Alexa" for Alexa to recognize the wake command. The only change was last night I added Alexa to my Samsung q60t TV but removed it when I noticed the mic sensitivity drop. Google Assistant works just fine with no mic sensitivity issues. I've seen plenty of posts regarding poor mic sensitivity on Sonos devices for Alexa and I've done the following:- remove Alexa from Beam via Sonos App. - deregister and delete Beam from Alexa- deregister and delete Samsung TV from Alexa- deregister and delete all other Alexa devices (an Echo and Dot)- Factory reset of Beam- Repairing Beam with Alexa. No luck with the above. Called Sonos and they said to call Amazon support. They offered the same fixes with no luck. Wondering if
Since switching to the S2 app and buying a new Beam Gen2, I could no longer enable Alexa, it said it wasn’t available in my location. Spent ages sorting this out. Turns out because I live in Guernsey, it wasn’t recognizing me. So I had to switch my account to UK and now it’s fine. Problem is I don’t live in the UK, and benefit from buying VAT free when I order to Guernsey, so after enabling Alexa, I have to switch my account back to Guernsey and it’s fine. This could do with fixing please. Never had this problem before with other products on S1 app.
I've owned two Sonos ones for 3 years now and I can not get the two to play music via alexa. It simply doesn't work. Countless attempts, no real answer from Sonos on it. I've grouped them together as a group in alexa app (the preferred speaker option for both speakers isn't there anymore, can only select one of the speakers or built in speaker) and it still won't work. It's like it's not compatible despite saying it is. I love the Sonos products for their audio quality but voice integration is very poor and poorly advertised as alexa compatible. I know you can't link alexa products with Sonos in a group but can't understand why the Sonos groups won't work. If anymore has ever got this working I would love to know how, as it just seems like I'm banging my head against a wall. Thanks
A couple of questions re setting up the Sonos system to be able to automatically respond upon a voice request to play:Is it OK to keep Sonos Amp and Sonos Five always on, so that a request via Alexa to associated Amazon Echo to play something on the Sonos equipment (Alexa Group) can be initiated at any time? Or do you typically turn the equipment on each day just prior to asking for something to play? (Amazon Echo is kept on.) Does Sonos Amp and Sonos Five go to sleep after a time of not playing and do they automatically awake when the Alexa command is given to the associated Echo for them to play? (This, to save energy and potentially not overheat internal components vs the always full on state.)Thank you in advance.
So i am just setting up my Sonos App. It is connected to in the ceiling speakers. They worked when i tested them out first thing. Now i am trying to connect to Alexa but it all is going into circles and i am losing my sanity. It keeps asking me to register speakers and gives zero to nothing to explain what on earth they want me to do 😭😭😭
I have been trying to set up Alexa as a voice assistant but struggling to get it to show as a service in the Sonos App. I have tried disabling and enabling the skill in Alexa as well as deleting both apps and starting again.
Hello All, new to the Sonos community here. I am wanting to play music in my “upstairs group” which consists of two echo dots and a recently added Sonos Arc however, I am unable to do so. I did see, a few years ago, where this feature was unavailable (it was either one or the other -SONOS group OR ALEXA devices Group but not both) and was wondering if anything has changed? Thank you III advance. Mark
hi, I have recently bought a Sonos move and set up the voice command groups on the Alexa app. the group I have set up is - (named- living room)Sonos Move, 2 x play 1s and a Sonos play bar. When using the voice command that's on the Alexa app (Alexa, play music in the living room), the Sonos move just plays a new song and does not play the grouped speakers. any help with this would be appreciated as its really frustrating?I can group them using the app on my phone, so its not the end of the world lol but as the option for Alexa is there id like to use it. thanks
Hello, if I have an Echo setup with Spotify Account #1 but the Sonos is setup with Spotify Account #2, which Spotify account will be used if I asked Echo to play a song on my Sonos speaker? I am planning to purchase a few Sonos speakers and I have a bunch of Echo’s in the house already so I just wanted to make sure how this all works. Thanks.
