Hi! Maybe somebody here has an answer and a solution... I tried the search function and did not found a simple solution. I have the sonos connect for my business. When using the doorbell the music doesn't automatically starts again. I had this problem since the beginning, playing music via Spotify/Tuneln the doorbell always stopped the music. I bypassed this by using spotify in the sonos app. This worked for several months. Now even music via the spotify app stops because of the doorbell. Any solutions? What extra information do you need? Thanks!
I originally worked through successfully setting up a new Sonos Beam to my older Sharp Aquos TV. I was able to use voice commands to Alexa to turn on/off the TV up until a recent series of power outages. After the power outage, both Alexa and my Sonos ecosystem weren't behaving but after following other community posts, I was able to get everything working again. The next day is when I noticed that I couldn't use Alexa to turn off/on TV whereas it was working previously. All other functions via Beam work fine (various audio sources, other Alexa commands, etc). Setup: Sonos Beam connected to HDMI 1 (ARC port) on Sharp Aquos TV. I verified menu settings on TV to enable Sharp Aquos Link on TV for Auto Power ON (presumably Sharp's version for CEC setting). NOTE: This setting worked previously. Troubleshooting thus far: Validate in Sonos App and Alexa App that all devices appear and online. I have gone to the Alexa website (not mobile app) to 'Forget' the 'Den TV' device .
I live in Japan, but I'm American and have a US Alexa account. I have several Alexa devices and have no trouble using any of them in Japan. I managed to get Alexa to work on my Beam, but it doesn't know it's location. The time is wrong and weather is reported from East Queen Anne, WA. The Beam does not show up in my Alexa app as a device. Should it? Other devices like dots and spots show up in the app and I can set their locations individually. How can I fix the location for the beam? Does my Sonos account impact the location at all?
I have a Playbase with 2 Sonos Ones as the surrounds. I can use the Ones for Alexa and do use to control the lights and switches of my room using a skill. Sony has a range to TV's that can be controlled by Alexa. https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/articles/00186768 Can I use a Sonos one as the Alexa hub to control these TV's? I know Sonos cannot do all the Alexa skills. Thanks
Hi there, I’m using a Sonos One in my bathroom (together with a bunch of other Sonos devices in other rooms). The power supply and lighting in the bathroom is switched on every time a person is detected by a motion detector - during working days thus usually two times a day for about an hour or so. The Sonos One takes about 2 minutes to start after I’ve entered the room (btw. for comparison: A 2rd gen Echo boots within 30 seconds) My problem: Within the first hour after power on (+/-) I’m not able to trigger playing a radio station (TuneIn) via Alexa. If I’m trying to do that I get a response from Alexa that the Sonos skill had not been activated and that I have to trigger searching for new devices afterwards. That’s an absurd advice. The Sonos skill is already active for several months. Beyond that it’s hard to believe imho to trigger a search for new devices only because of the fact that the regularly fully registered Sonos One was switched off TEMPORARILY before :@
Hi I bought amazon echo dot 3rd generation and I connected it successfully to my sonos sytem. I've 2 room: 1st rom with : 1 play1 speaker 2nd room: 5.1 sorround with playbase + sub+play1+play1 I can manage 1st room complitly, but alexa is not able to manage volume in the 2nd room It is possible to do it? If no, I think that sonos should add this feature in sonos system and app and also to can manage rooms groups directly by alexa It would be very nice to can controll my musyc in all sonos system in my home by alexa Thanks for help
Currently my Sonos Beam only supports TV on/off and volume control. HDMI CEC supports much more. Most interested are channel up/down, a smoother volume control (10% are too big) and a volume display as number (not only +/-). Can I expect such Alexa skill enhancements in the future?
Hi, Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem. I normally use Deezer for my music. When using voice I ask Alexa to play an album or play songs by an artist (ie not a single track) but it only ever plays one track and then stops. If while the first track is playing you say skip to next track... it just says what do you want to play or continues to play the first track. If you let the 1st track finish the 2nd track doesn't start... it's just silence. I have disabled and reenabled the Sonos skill numerous time ... same problem. I have tried Apple music to skip tracks just in case it was a Deezer problem...same problem with Apple. It is immensely frustrating as I have seemed to have purchased a very expensive system that only allows me to change radio station with my voice.(Yes that works). Have submiited numerous diagnostics through Twitter to Sonos but they offer no solution which is disappointing to say the least. Just wondering if anyone had had similar and h
Can anyone help please? I start listening to tracks through Spotify on my Sonos One, but when I ask it to “Skip track”, it starts playing Absolute Radio stations. Additionally, if I’m playing throug Spotify and ask Alexa to stop, I get message “thank you for listening to absolute radio, goodbye”, and Spotify continues to play. Any suggestions?
Hi , Alexa plays a playlist on full play or shuffle through her own speaker but when she plays on the sonos she can only play one song from the playlist even though she says she is shuffling songs on kitchen which is what we have called the sonos speakers. She also cant do the next song function when playing through the sonos but can on her own. Can any one help?
Hei. So i got my Sonos one up and running with Alexa. Most things work as it should with it. I have two sonos ones in my house and one echo dot. When i try to ask Sonos one to play my flash briefing it only pulls the first source i have in the briefing. (I only have weather + news). I tried with different sequences and it stil only plays the first source. I tried doing a lot of the tips on this site like deleting sonos skills, re searching for them. Rebooting sonos etc. Nothing has worked. An addition to the flash briefing not working as it should, when i ask it to play the flash briefing it seems for the first 3-4 seconds it has to voices saying two differnet things. Kind of like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=8&v=I_QOludB8R0 1187998311d is the diagnosis number thx!
I was looking to pick up 2 Echo’s in the Amazon Black Friday sales and couple it with a playbar and 2 x Play 1’s I already have, what I’d like to know is what function would the Alexa’s take on in this set up? Can I play from all five speakers simultaneously no matter where they are in the house? Or if I ask Alexa to play “Track X by Y” will it only play from the Echo? I’ve done some googling but it appears there isn’t any clear answer for multiple echo set ups within a Sonos environment! Thanks all.
Amazon Music in Canada has to be directed to Sonos through an Alexa device because the music service hasn't yet been added to Sonos. It's been working fine after a problem last week but now Sonos will play one song and stop. If I skip to next it's not a song in the same sequence as the Amazon playlist; it may not even be a song from that playlist but from somewhere in my library. I tried it on my Echo and the playlists play normally and move through the songs sequentially. before I contact support I wondered if anyone else was having this problem?
My Sonos Beam is set up to stream music from my iPhone. When I try to add voice services the Sonos app seems to hang (with the spinning thing in the middle of the screen). I do have the Amazon Alexa app on my iPhone and it works perfectly with my Echo and Dot at home. Please help. Thanks.
Quirky Sonos One A. Alexa is slightly deaf unless close by, (inconclusive, Re-adding Voice, using Ethernet or projecting voice as sometimes better) B. Alexa voice is too loud vs music volume setting, Alexa news briefing is quiet vs music volume setting.(though can turn up) C. Airplay 2 sometimes won’t play unless restart iPod touch, though iPod music plays via Sonos app more regularly. Summary, despite Quirks it has a Nice tone / depth and opens up my various devices music libraries, vast improvement on my dots sound, along with looking forward to Google Assistant coming down the line.
I just hooked a Sonos Beam up to my Vizio M65-C1. It's hooked up to the one HDMI-ARC port, and CEC is turned on at the TV. I can turn off the TV just fine using Alexa, and I can turn it on just fine using the remote. But if I use Alexa to turn the TV on, it switches to the Beam input and I get the screen saver instead of TV. Any help?
I have just got a Beam in my family room to go along with my (non-Alexa) Play 1 in the bedroom. Getting them all to play simultaneously or independently through the Sonos app works fine. Problem comes with Alexa voice control. Saying 'play spotify through family room' or 'through bedroom' works most of the time (although will sometimes claim that a device is offline when it isnt) but it seems impossible to get them to play the same Spotify song simultaneously in both rooms via Alexa command. I have the iPhone Alexa app and set up a new 'All Sonos' group (i couldnt select the 'add multi-room speakers' as its greyed out). However when i say 'Play spotify on All Sonos' it will either say i have to add it as a skill and then ask Alexa to discover new devices (its already added as a skill and asking Alexa to discover new devices just leads to 'no new devices could be found'). Occasionally it will start to play and will say 'playing Spotify on All Sonos' but it actually only comes on
".... from the Alexa app." No idea what changed since yesterday. Found my phone, everything seemed to be in order. Checked all the boxes, tried again. Same story. Unplugged the One, let it boot up, everything now works fine. Constant jerking around.
