Almost no skills are working

Spent a lot of time messaging back and forth with a Sonos rep before purchasing my Sonos One, almost all of the functions (Skills) I “confirmed” with him I would be able to access are not working ☹️ Alexa inidcates she is about to start/play a Skill but then dead silence.
