Hi, I'm looking for a change to be made to my account, that will allow me to successfully update my Play 1 after it is displaying an Error code 9 when trying to update. I believe the problem came about when I tried setting up my Play 1, when my account was in Beta mode. Because of this, I couldn't add any music service, or do any updates. So I tried to remove myself from Beta, and uninstalled teh iOS app and re-installed... but when I try to update, I get an error 9 from the Play 1 and it can't update. At the moment, I'm unable to add any music service to my system, and cannot use my speaker. What do I need to do?
I am having connection issues with a single radio station. WORT 89.9 in Madison, WI, through TuneIn. It's really choppy cutting in and out. I don't have problems with other stations through TuneIn AND I don't have trouble listening to the station through TuneIn in my browser on a desktop in the same room as my PLAY:1. Any thoughts?
My Sonos setup consists of a Play:1 and a Play:5. It has worked flawlessly for a couple of months. I recently added another Play:1, and the app said it needed to update the speakers. They are all now running 6.4.2. Since then the sound cuts out when listening to radio. I assumed the internet was being flaky, however, whenever it cuts out, the app fails to connect to sonos too. There is no pattern, the whole system vanishes for anywhere between 2 seconds and 30 minutes. I have checked my network and there are no IP conflicts. What might be of note is that initially it was one phone that couldn't see the system, but now when it cuts out, both phones fail to see the system. All seems a bit strange. Anyone else having similar issues, or have had issue like this in the past? Thanks, : D
Received my first Play 1 today. It plays from radio and iphone with no problem. Using the Win7 application i have the manage music library greyed out so can't add any songs yet locally, how frustrating! Reading a few forums suggest updating.. The controller has an update waiting and it appears to install properly, but everytime i recheck : still has the update available. Tried rebooting both PC and Sonos to no avail, still has update available. Tried running as administrator , the same. Tried wired and wireless, the same. Win7 64bit btw. any suggestions?
Hi Guys, FIrst of all, thanks for the awesome products you're making! Having used studio / reference equipment at home for over a decade I finally decided to take the plunge and switch to Sonos. I got my first pair of Play.1 just to try them out a month ago and I now have 7 devices with a few more coming in the next days... no more cables all over the place. Just pure music listening pleasure! To the point however, I got a 2nd hand Sonos CONNECT in order to take advantage of the LineIn capability. All works except for the Connect staying up and accessible without the Ethernet cable. During setup, it got recognised the same way every other piece of kit did but at some point, the app asked me to connect the ethernet cable.I did that hoping it'd be temporary but sadly, once i pull the plug, there's no way to reach it over wifi. Could you please help me out? The way it's placed, I really don't want that ethernet cable get in the way... Thanks! Mike
Just started having issues, but not sure if it's linked to the iOS update or Sonos App update. Can no longer access anything using the iOS app on my phone or iPad. Every services says "Unable to browse music - there was a problem connecting to x" I've uninstalled and re-installed the app, rebooted the phone, rebooted my computer, rebooted my bridge, etc. I have internet access, I have wireless working, I can access everything fine using the PC app, i can even control the music from my phone once I start it playing but I cannot change music or access anything from my phone or ipad. The one thing I can do is that I can change stations in Tunein for example only by using my favourites, but cannot browse for any new stations due to the error message I'm getting, so it's clear there's connectivity of some sort. Any ideas?
Hi I have purchased a new LG TV but the supplied remote won't work with playbar to change the volume. The remote uses RFI not IR. The TV is model 55uh652t. I can't find a IR port on the TV that would allow me to retransmit the remote commands in IR. Should I get a universal remote or are there other options? Thanks...Matt
Hello, new here to the sonos community and wanted some help! I have a very large music collection that is stored on a fairly old usb powered western digital my passport. I typically have this connected to my laptop and play music from there. The downside to this is I always have to have my laptop on and hard drive connected to play music. I have read about connecting a hard drive to a wireless network and then having that play though the sonos speakers. I have a netgear nighthawk AC1900 with readyshare capability. Is it possible to plug this WD passport into the usb input on the netgear nighthawk and play music from there onto my sonos speakers? If so, how would i go about doing that. In terms of quality and lag, would there be a lag in play back or will that not be an issue? Thank You
Unable to update my Sonos 1s I just received today. Is this product as bad as it appears? Something as simple as an update and it can't do it without everyone piling on to a forum? Perhaps Sonos could acknowledge the problem and roll their garbage back. The iOS app is garbage too. Very close to sending it all back to Amazon.
Hey, Just got a system. I have a PlayBar and SUB. I have noticed that the sub randomly drops off when music is playing and then picks back up eventually. Not sure what is going on here. The SUB and PlayBar are both beside the router. Wondering if hard wiring the sub would make a difference? Has anyone else experienced this issue? Thanks for all the help.
Firstly I am not in the Beta prog. I have just joined Apple Music and wanted to add this service to Sonos but the controller has 'lost' the add service button. This is on my ipad, my iphone, My Mac , my Android phone and my Win 10 PC. Its the same issue on all of them I try to update. It goes through all the motions and then gives me the error message I have uninstalled the apps and reintalled. To no avail. I have tried to phone Sonos but every time after approx 15 mins on hold the lone just cuts out. I am not given any option to request a call back or leave a message I suspect this is a common issue at the moment so maybe someone has been lucky to remember what Sonos get you to do to rectify the problem. Or maybe Sonos could post a STICKY?
Hi, I have today purchased a Play1, this is my first Sonos item in a hope of adding to it once I have worked out exactly how to use it. I have managed to download all my iTunes music onto the Sonos app on my macbook. I have also managed to download the apps and the music to my iPad and iPhone. Two questions I have are; 1. Will I be able to play my music using my iPhone when my macbook isn't switched on as that is where all my music is stored? and 2. If I was to purchase more speakers will I be able to access each speaker in each room with a different device to play different music on each speaker if necessary. Ie could I be playing one album downstairs and my daughters be able to play a different album upstairs. Hope that all makes sense.
Hi, I recently purchased a lot of Sonos stuff and noticed that in certain rooms of my house Sonos keeps dropping. I heard Sonos creates a mesh network but that doesn't seem to be helping. I was wondering what other people do. I have a Comcast Router with a NetGear Router acting as a repeater with the SSID. Just wondering if other people have the same problem and how to get around it. I could hard wire the speakers but that doesn't change the fact that my Sonos App on my phone keeps dropping out. Any thoughts?? Drew
I just received my first set of Sonos speakers as a gift. I have an old Ipod classic in which my song list is located on my Itunes library on my HP PC. Is there a way to have these songs played on Sonos? I do not know if it matters, but my library is not backed up in the cloud, plus a lot my music was uploaded to the Itunes library via CD's that I already own. The songs from the CD's do not show up on my Itunes account when I log into Itunes.
Hi I've recently added 2 Play 1's to my existing PlayBar and when I listen to music they perform excellently but when I watch tv there is barely any sound coming out of the Play 1's. I'm hoping I've missed something as I thought they would perform better than this with the tv. As far as I can see I have it set up correctly. I have noticed in the Sonos app that it says my audio input is Stereo, not sure if this is the issue? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Phil
