I had setup my playbar + Play1 + Sub with my earlier wireless. Recently I have added new Orbi router. While reconnecting all the Sonos to new Orbi router I am having difficulties getting them connected to new wirelss. They are not being found on my iPhone sonos app. Any help?
Can anyone help me with this? I only bought my Beam yesterday. I am very impressed with it, other than this annoying noise coming from the high freq speaker on some notes. This cannot be normal or acceptable from such a high end speaker?? Im wondering if it is faulty! Thanks
I've been seeing topics here and on other forums discussing the Sonos DNS query activity when the queries are blocked. In particular the msmetrics.ws.sonos.com which seems to generate queries at a high rate. Has anyone found a solution that keeps Sonos happy and only issuing queries at a reasonable rate, as it does when this site is not blocked?
I installed several Sonos Connects at my folks' place and connected them directly to some Elan power amps that controlled an older system throughout the house. I tested one Sonos Connect and had success before buying the rest and installing them. When I left after the installation in September, all zones were working great and sounding great. Fast forward to late October, and I returned to their home. Most of the zones that have a Sonos Connect directly into an Elan power amp had buzzing/clicking coming through the speakers. Beyond that, some speakers weren't working at all. This was certainly not the case when I left after the initial installation. Does anyone have any guidance for me? I am completely disheartened as the system was working beautifully in September. Come October, we had major issues after making no changes at all. I could have gone the Sonos Connect Amp route as I have those at my house, but I thought I would simplify the installation a bit by going direct from
I am having a strange problem: I replaced a Sonos Play One which I used as the master player in an all house playing group, with a Sonos One. Now with the Sonos One being the group master (first on the list), every time I start playing something, it looks like the entire group is regrouping again causing all my speakers to stop for some time and start playing one after the other. I did not have this problem with the Play 1. The Sonos One is the master mostly because it is wired. I have one other Play 3 which is also wired but with much longer cables and 2 switched away and if I create a group with the Play 3 as master, the problem goes away. So... Is there something specific to the play one firmware causing it to want to re create groups if it is the group master every time it starts to play anything?
I tune into KTRS via TuneIn and I am getting static on my Sonos speakers. It is only on this one station and only through the speakers. I can play the station on the TuneIn app on my cell phone and not get any static. I can also play other stations from TuneIn and not get any static at all on my speakers. Static on KTRS is an issue on my speakers at home and at my studio location. Is there an issue here or something I should be doing?
I've noticed when I listen to music on Spotify via the Spotify app on my LG Oled B7 the audio outputs in Dolby 2.0 and sounds great. When I play spotify via my nvidia shield, the audio outputs in Stereo and sounds alright. When i ask Alexa to play music, use airplay or play directly from my phone the audo quality is terrible. It doesn't even show what the audio output is when i check in the Sonos app. Is there a way to ensure the music is always played back in Dolby 2.0? At least when I ask Alexa to play something.
Hello, First off, im a bit of an audiophobe, however, I’ve recently added to my Sonos collection, so I now have a beam and two Sonos ones connected via HDMI arc to my TV. I don’t think my TV supports 5.1 pass through. The majority of time I am streaming programmes/movies via chrome cast which is connected to the TV via the other HDMI slot. The issue I am having is I am unable to achieve DD5.1 whilst watching chrome cast, presumably because my TV can’t pass it through to the speaker. Would some sort of 1 in, 2 out HDMI splitter connected to the Beam solve this issue? With one of the outs going to the HDMI ARC in the TV and the other connected to the chrome cast? So that the Beam is the middle man so to speak. Thanks for any help! Gary
I’m struggling to set up my new Beam. I have a Samsung telly and a YouView box. I’ve not been able to get the Sonos app to find the signal. I’ve tried using the ARC socket and the optical output. Bizarrely I did get sound for 2 secs when I unplugged everything. Any ideas please?
I have a single home network, but I use 3 WiFi routers to create 3 zones - one on the north side of my house, one on the south side, and one in the backyard. All my Sonos devices work fine inside the house, in zones 1 and 2. But, I cannot get a Play:3 Speaker to work outside in the backyard. Although the space is more than 100 feet from the house, I’m putting the speaker within 5 feet of the zone 3 router which is hard wired (Ethernet) back to the house and produces as strong of a signal as the two zones inside the house. Why will the Play:3 connect to either zone 1 or 2, but not zone 3?
One of Player 5's decided to not be able to log onto the wifi. Sonos said that I should return the faulty speaker and they would replace it. That was 10 days ago, I'm still waiting for my DHL shipping labels. After contacting Sonos a few times to check what the delay is with me not receiving my DHL shipping labels I have been told that DHL have the delays. Sonos it's your problem. Don't pass the buck - sort out what ever is happening with the business relationship with DHL and Sonos. As a customer it's not working.
So I just bought a play-bar, a sub and 2 play 5 speakers with the boost to connect all of them. I was able to connect all of them properly and it sounds great. The problem I am having is connecting my echo dot. From what I understand (from best buy) was the boost is suppose to link all the sonos system together on a separate allocated wifi signal, while the echo dot is searching for everything wireless on the house(open) wifi. My echo dot is already connected to my Nest, TV ect.. How do I connect the sonos system to echo dot with the boost system? Should I just return the boost... is it necessary or did best buy sucker me out of another 100 bucks? Does the sonos sound system talk to each other and synchronize without the boost? Can I connect my echo to the boost?
Hi guys, can anyone help me ?...I have a Sonos Beam with two Play 1 surround speakers. The other Play 1 surround speaker has been flashing white a couple of days now and is also missing from my system page. No sound can be heard coming from the surround Play 1 speakers ( not even the one recognized by the system ). I have rebooted my router and all my 7 sonos speakers around my home ( also disconnected and reconnected my hard-wired Play 5 speaker and changed my Sonos channel from 6 to 1 and tried also 11 ) a couple of times now but nothing seems to help. Please help....
This only began within the last week. Sometimes on TV start the beam will not out put any sound until I power cycle the beam. The TV seems to see it properly as an hdmi sound out but no sound is coming out of the beam. Also, occasionally during use the tv will intermittently switch away from hdmi arc for a few seconds and use it's internal speakers and then return to the beam. Doesn't seem to be anything causing it. I've gone hours without the speaker switches and I've had periods where it'll switch every minute or so. After the most recent dropout I submitted diagnostics: 1934054959 I had commented on another post with a different diagnostics confirmation number of the same behavior: 204080208
My music all of sudden just keeps cutting out. Incredibly frustrating... It mentions Air Play, but I dont have any devices with AirPlay that I am aware of. This week I haven't been able to listen to music longer than 60-90 seconds without it turning off. Please help.
I created this account to share an incomplete solution to the issue stated above. The solution is only for local video files, which means you won't have solution for applications like Netflix, until Apple offers the related AirPlay 2 API. Well, I use VLC Player a lot and after getting the update for AP2, I was so excited but then I encountered the issue. However, after Sonos' follow-up update, I found that the issue is solved when I use Safari to play videos on some websites like Youtube and etc. Emmmm, so HTML5 is ok. But I couldn't find a way to play my local video files with Safari. Then I saw some guy on Reddit talking about the API thing. OK, it's Apple's fault then. So here comes the solution. You get a video converter. I recommend Smart Converter from App Store since it's free, fast and easy to use. Convert your video to Mac format, if it's not in MP4 already. Then open it with either iTunes or QuickTime. Problem Solved. I have only one Sonos Play 5, gen 2, bu
Hello Community, I have a question on the new Sonos Amp. I have three sets of B&W speakers; 2 in-ceiling (CCM80) and 1 outdoor (WM6). They're all rated to handle up to 130W at 8ohms. They're connected to a single home run with each having their own Niles volume control (VCS100K) in their respective rooms. I would like just to have one amp since I have impedance matching volume controls for each speaker already in place. Here are my three scenarios: Scenario 1. If I run three 8ohm speakers on one channel with a 2x multiplier for the VCs, the total impedance is 5.3. I calculated the power output for 5.3ohms to be 188W. Assuming that calculation is correct, that's 63W/channel. That's really not too bad, but I'm looking to get more out of this amp since it's rated at 125W at 8ohms. This is the most likely and safest scenario. Scenario 2. If I adjust the Sonos Amp max volume to be around 80-90%, do I need to set the VC switch multiplier to 2x for each VC or will it be okay with it
