UPnP not working with converted files

So, after this app debacle I’m on the hunt for technical solutions.The one that I found is that I use Symfonium ( https://symfonium.app ) and oh great it supports UPnP ! I can play my files in the FLAC format (16bit/44.1 kHz) without problems !But my music provider converts to OPUS 128kb/s for my smartphone because when I’m on the road… Roaming gets quickly expensive. I then get 48.0 kHz files that are then sent via UPnP to Sonos, just like FLAC.According to https://docs.sonos.com/docs/supported-audio-formats, 48 kHz is supported for Opus. But it doesn’t work. Bummer.But fear not I got one last card up my sleeve and it’s to transcode to MP3. So I’m trying MP3 320kb/s, in 44.1 kHz which again is supposed to work and… well, it doesn’t work.I tried another UPnP device it was working flawlessly, and it even works over Chromecast… But we can all dream about Chromecast on Sonos when I see Apple and AirPlay working without problems it really sucks using Android with Sonos… :(Any staff members

Explain Sonos 2.4Ghz & 5Ghz

Obviously, this question has been discussed in this forum, I want to clarify some questions. 5Ghz is only used in a 5.1 set up I suppose? In terms of connectivity bond, projecting sound from Tv (Movies) 2.4Ghz is employed in multi-room usage? In terms of projecting your movie audio to different rooms; Streaming music from Spotify (I believe that a 5.1 streaming music is using 2.4ghz then) So how Sonosnet have anything to do with this? If I'm using a standard set up for my 5.1, I'm actually getting my router to work on 5ghz? if this statement even make sense

One speaker from stereo pair stops working

Hi, I have a pair of Play:1's in my kitchen, configured as a stereo pair. Several times now (maybe, on average, once every 2 weeks), the right speaker stops working. Once it stops, it never comes back and the only way I can get it to come back is to separate the pair, and recreate it. This (so far) has worked immediately every time, so it appears the speaker itself works fine (in fact, when I separate it, I can always play music directly on it). I have a couple of other pairs of Play:1's in my setup, and only ever get this problem with the same, right, speaker in my kitchen zone. Nether speakers are wired. Any ideas why I keep getting this problem? For Sonos support, my Diagnostic confirmation number is: 603946054. Thanks.

Make Sonos work without internet

I would just like to play the music from my media server over my Sonos speakers without having to have a connection to the internet. Is that such a hard thing to ask Sonos to provide ?

use wifi range extender with sonos?

We often have trouble with wifi connectivity in our kitchen, and we purchased a range extender (amped AC1200) to improve performance. So far, it seems to help quite a bit when surfing the web in the kitchen. We have also experienced occasional problems with playing through the sonos system in the kitchen, and nearly always when trying to listen to sonos on the back porch, just outside the kitchen. Can we also use this device to communicate between the sonos bridge and a speaker? (I am assuming this is not possible, because the device creates a second network, which the sonos speaker would not recognize.) If not, is there another solution for improving connectivity between the bridge and a speaker? Thank you. EDIT: Having read a related thread that came up after posting this, I see that the appropriate sonos product for this problem is a BOOST. I would still like to use the amped range extender with our sonos system if this is possible. Thank you for any advice you can provide.

For Sonos users who wish to choose which of their iTunes playlists are transferred to Sonos or for users who wish to use lossy formats for their ipods and lossless for their Sonos system. It makes a custom XML file on the NAS with unselected playlists removed and/or references adjusted to the lossless files. If you wish to only transfer a subset of playlists the application can be configured to display a playlist selector before the custom XML file is generated. HTTP Post Command Reference for Tasker

I'm new to Sonos, but would like to setup some Tasker tasks in Android to automate playing my favourite radio station, launching playlists, etc. Is there a reference for http POST commands that I could work from? Could someone point me in the right direction? My aim is to use Tasker with NFC tags to activate theses common tasks without the need to go into the app.

ZP100 not booting

Hi, I've recently acquired a ZP100 however it looks to be stuck in the boot process with a single white light flashing endlessly. It doesn't appear responsive to holding the mute button on bootup. On powerup all of the network port light flash briefly and the connection lights are solid if wired to bridge via ethernet. I know this is an old product and I know it is my fault for purchasing it, but is there any other reset tricks or way to update the firmware to get out of this loop?

Hook your Sonos system to IFTTT and control it with the cloud

For those unfamiliar, If This Then That (IFTTT) is a service that lets you hook two internet services together, with the first acting as a trigger and the second as a destination. For instance, you can say IF a new Instagram photo is posted in a certain area, THEN save it to my dropbox folder. I've written an app that (with some work) hooks a Sonos system to IFTTT. So you can do things like IF someone tweets with a hashtag, THEN speak the tweet through my Sonos, or IF I arrive home, THEN play a specific Sonos Favorite. It's pretty cool to ponder the neat things you can do with the scores of channels that IFTTT offers. Check it out, and let me know if you have any questions. Can I use sonos system without an internet network at home?

i want to use sonos in a presentation setting. Currently i have a microphone connected to a mixer, and the mixer connected to an amplifier wired with speakers. I want to replace the wired speakers with wireless speakers. I don't have internet network. Is it possible with sonos? If so, what sonos equipments do I need to buy to accomplish what I want?

SONOS on segregated VLAN (IoT) and APP on another (AGAIN)

Have a Sonos Connect AMP, and I love the quality of sound it generates with my own speakers, and now thinking of expanding system. I recently purchased it, and now Sonos AMP is out, so I feel a bit unhappy about that, and I would likely have waited a little to purchase new unit. But that is not my most serious issue: I have a decent understanding of TCP/IP networking, but am by no means an expert. I have recently upgraded from consumer grade router to pfsense+unifi switch and AP config. I have designed my network so that I have 3 separate segregated networks, on different VLANs. MAIN LAN, IOT LAN, GUEST LAN. Like many other folks before me, according to the hours I have spent reading forums, I am having an issue getting APP on MAIN to work with SONOS on IOT. Every one of my other 7 smart device work just fine, with Avahi mDNS/DNS-SD reflector, but not SONOS. I have been playing with IGMP Proxy as suggested on many forums and still nothing. Why is this so complicated? From wh

Pcm or bitstream samsung ks9000

Hi, i have a samsung ks9000 and i have 2 options on the hdmi audi format which is pcm and bitsream and they both play in 5.1. Can someone please tell me which is the recommemed setting for the playbar and my 5.1 set up as i cant tell the difference. The audio format is set to dolby digital. Thanks
