In my setup there is a soundbar, sub and two play1s for surround. When I set up trueplay in the room, I am told to hold the iPad where I usually sit, yet we have multiple places in the room where I would like the sound to reach with the same sound. I notice a big difference between the seats in the room because the subwoofer and one of the play1s are closer to my seat. Maybe there could be an option to select more than one seat in the room during the trueplay setup.
I've a 5.1 set up (2x p1, bar & sub) in my living room which is next to the kitchen (same room basically, meaning no walls or doors split them). In the kitchen i've a p3. Is it possible to attach the p3 to the 5.1 set up? The reason why i'm asking is because i don't want to combine groups each time when i switch between radio or tv. Now the 5.1 auto switches to tv as soon as soon as tv is turned on, although kitchen keeps playing radio.
Hi All, I have a large garden and an Ethernet cable running underground from my main router/wifi location (#1) to a secondary wifi/router setup as a repeater (#2). The two locations do not have continuous wifi coverage. My main house fed of #1 has been running without issue. I've recently connected a new Sonos to #2. I tried normal wifi setup but it failed. I tried the Ethernet cable (plugged into #2) and it worked fine. I could successfully get the new Sonos speaker to group with the ones connected to #1. However-it only works when connected via Ethernet cable. When I try to connect via wifi on #2 it does not work. I presume because #2 is giving off a different wifi connection than #1. Does anyone know how to make both of my routers appear as if they are giving off the same wifi network-as I assume the new Sonos speaker would then work wirelessly? To be clear-there is an Ethernet cable coming out of router#1, and plugged into router#2. This is the only way I can get inter
I have two homes. One is a vacation home, the other my main residence. I currently have a large iTunes library database of over 1,500 CDs that I ripped to a rack mounted RAID Network Storage Device (NAS). Sonos works wonderfully with this system at my primary home. I have many Sonos devices at both homes. So I bought a 2TB portable NAS unit and copied all of my iTunes data onto that device.I carried that device to my vacation home, plugged it into my network, and told my Sonos controller the location of the copied iTunes Database. Sonos refuses to play the music saying that I don't have permission to access these files. I own the music. These were not downloaded files. It is all from CDs that I had purchased. Can anyone tell me how to correct this situation?
Hi there, I have a Pioneer VSX-527 receiver connected to my TV, speakers, a Mac mini, a Wii and an Apple TV. I use a Logitech Harmony to control most of this setup. I hate that I have to switch on the receiver and the Mac mini, and then run Spotify in order to stream Spotify in our home. (I could also Airplay it to the Apple TV, but I would still have to turn everything on, and I'd be dependant on a single mobile device.) I would like to be able to stream my Spotify music whenever I want, without first having to switch on stuff. But I need my receiver for connecting all my devices to my TV and my speakers. I would love to reuse these speakers for my music streaming, instead of having a separate system for this. So I'm thinking of placing a Sonos Connect:Amp between my receiver and my speakers. I could connect the speakers to the Connect:Amp and that would enable me to stream music over my existing speakers. But how can I connect the Pioneer receiver to the Connect:Amp? It does
Hello Everyone, i have recently bought a few SONOS Play's and i found out that google play has the option to directly play to sonus devices. As i am an Android developer myself, i wanted to integrate that function into my own apps (or more specifically into my Favorites Podcast Client) I have searched google and the forums for a developer libary used to do so, but i could not find one ? So my Question: Is there a libary to include into your own apps so that you can integrate your app with sonus ? If not, i think that would be a great thing, as it would spread compatibility with sonus way faster than Sonus could ever integrate all Services on their own. Thanks for an answer vabene EDIT: Sry for the double Question: Question in the Title, didn't know it was automatically adding that.
Hi I have two by play ones and the sub linked up principally to play music from Spotify and on-line radio. I was planning now to get the Playbar to upgrade the sound from my tv also in the same room. I do not at this time want to link the sub or the ones to the playbar as the stereo set up for the music is working well and I do not want to loose this. Any simple way of setting up what is in effect two systems in the same room please?
Because of the layout of the house, I needed boosters. Each has a variant of the basic router name but each has the same password. But when I move from one room to another Sonos gets lost, telling me it can't connect to the network because the one that it was setup on is now too weak, and my iPhone is logging into one of the subnetworks (it does that automatically). This is especially important when I move the speaker from the kitchen to the yard. Is there any way to teach Sonos to choose the strongest network?
I have a Yamaha RX-V671 with wired surround sound (Center, 2 fronts, 2 rears, and sub) and LG TV. I have a Sonos play5, 2x play 3, boost, and connect. The connect is currently connected to the RX-V671 using the Connects optical out port. Is there a way I can get rid of rear wired speakers or even a better way to setup surround sound for the TV?
(Also posted in the Troubleshooting Forum) I have a dozen or so Spotify playlists, ranging from a couple hundred songs to over 9,000. I've been successfully playing these Spotify lists through Sonos for a couple years now, although, whenever I would attempt to add any of those larger lists to the Sonos queue, I'd get a 1001 or 1002 Error Code, telling me it timed out . But then a few moments after receiving that error code, the queue would populate anyway. This delay happened so often that it became an expected part of the listening process. That changed inexplicably a couple days ago. I am no longer able to load any Spotify list containing over 3,000 songs into the Sonos queue. I live in an old house with heavy plaster walls, and realize this is a contributing factor for why I get those error codes, (and with WiFi signal strength in general). I have moved my Boost as far as possible from the router and anything else that could cause signal noise, such a LED holiday lights. I've
i have a multi zone sonos wired system. i have speakers on the patio and would like a bit more power out there. it would be great if sonos would update the software so u can "channel" the power of amps to power one set of speakers .. thoughts ?
Hi, i have a samsung ks9000 and i have 2 options on the hdmi audi format which is pcm and bitsream and they both play in 5.1. Can someone please tell me which is the recommemed setting for the playbar and my 5.1 set up as i cant tell the difference. The audio format is set to dolby digital. Thanks
Current setup: - Samsung UN55KU6300 with smart remote - Sonos Playbar - HDMI 1: Ruko 3 - HDMI 2: Playstation 4 I am attempting to configure my TV remote to control the volume coming from the Sonos Playbar. The Remote Control Setup feature in the Sonos app does not inherently work with this TV remote, and I already found help topics describing how to use the Universal Remote setup on the TV to assign a dummy device to the TV input, thus enabling the IR transmitter on the TV remote. Then, the Sonos Remote Control Setup feature will complete successfully. My issue is that the volume control will only work for that single TV input. If I change inputs, the remote no longer controls the Sonos Playbar volume unless I go through the Remote Control Setup again, in which case it overwrites the connection with the other input. I know other people have been having this issue, but has anyone found a solid solution? My TV does not have an IR input, so I can't use an IR blaster. Has a
I have an in home system setup with speakers throughout the house in the ceiling. The rooms that have ceiling speakers have wall plate switches to turn the sound on or off and volume control. They do not allow you to change channels, select music etc... this can only be done from one source at the main outlet. I currently only have one control station that I can hook up any type of sound like a stereo, directv, ipod etc.. to provide sound to those speakers. I would like to be able to control the input wirelessly from anywhere with my phone and select whatever source I choose like pandora, amazon etc.. Is there a product that will let me do that? Thank you!
Hi. I cant see what level (bps) of music quality SONOS is using then streaming from Spotify or Tidal. I have Sportify Premium and Tidal Hi-Fi subscribtion. Where to see/set? Can SONOS get access to Premium/Hi-Fi quality form these streaming services through SONOS app? Br. Kim
I'm interested in a Play1 but would prefer to have the speaker with an aux input so that it's more versatile. Is there a aux to Ethernet adapter that would allow me to plug aux input? A quick amazon search shows male aux to female Ethernet, so maybe with a few more adapters it could work.
Hi, I'm a member of parent committee in my kids' school. The direction plans to invest in a audio diffusion system. They received offers from companies but, according to me, too limited. It's a simple multi-diffusion system, wired with one amp. The intended use is : - background music - personal announcement - classes communication As the whole school is covered by a wifi network. I wonder if it'd possible to: - Use Sonos system with sound source in the director laptop (App) - Add, in all classes (20) a play:1 device - Add, in the Gym one (or two) Play:5 devices for scholar shows - Use a mic on the laptop for communication diffusion through sonos system According to me, main advantage of Sonos system, besides the high quality products, is the multi-room features and the possibility for teachers to add audio source to pass their own audio source for educative purpose (music, sound, audio books, ...) That would be great as they are many class rooms, and more are unde
Here is what I have: LG TV Bose SoundTouch 120 Cable Xbox Roku Sonos Play:3 in living room Sonos Play:1 in bedroom #1 Sonos Play:1 in bedroom #2 Sonos Play:1 in bathroom Right now I have my cable, xbox, and roku all running straight to different inputs on my TV via HDMI, and sound running from the TV to the Bose via optical cable. We use the Sonos system separately of all this. What I'd like to be able to do is run the TV audio through Sonos in addition to my Bose, so for instance, if we're having a football party (or xbox/roku), we can all watch the game and hear it through the Bose soundbar, but if somebody goes to the bathroom or any other room they can still hear the game through the Sonos speakers. If I got a Sonos Connect, and connected the Connect to the Bose via the red/white cables, will this work the way I think it will? Or, can anyone think of another way?
