Switch user accounts on the Sonos app
How can one switch sonos user accounts within the app?? This is in a corporate environment. Many users have home accounts, but want to associate and control the sonos at work. I would rather they just log into that account and use it (music services are already created and set up) instead of trying to associate the work system with their account. For Example: - User1 has their personal account (firstname.lastname@example.org) with their system (using either android or apple phone). - Work1 is a work account for the work system (using email@example.com). Everything is ready to go. How to log out of one account and log into another account on the app in the phone? I couldn't find such a way on my android phone and other users with apple report the same. Thanks!!
Auto power on amp
I have a Sonos Connect connected to an amp (more accurately a pair of active studio monitors, but effectively the same). Every time I start playing music for that room I need switch the power socket on for the multiplug that they're powered from. Other people may have amps that auto switch on when they detect an input signal but that's not an option for me. I would have thought its fairly common issue but I'm really struggling to find a solution. There's this discontinued product, the Parasound SCAMP: parasound.com/pdfs/vintage/scampom.pdf (Sorry, this forum won't let me post clickable links until I've posted 3 times!) Which while being on ebay is expensive, but more importantly the wrong voltage (and ideally would be better with kettle style power outputs, or at least UK sockets). I also found this, the ST-ACR2: rdlnet.com/product.php?page=278 But I have no idea how to hook this up, and even if I could I'd up up which a bunch of exposed wires on the shelf. Can anyon
Using AirPlay 2 without WiFi
AirPlay 2 devices can be used without WiFi. The Apple HomePod has AirPlay 2, and can be used without WiFi. I've tested with my Sonos One, and was disappointed to find this isn't possible. Is this something that might be supported in the future? This would be a welcome enhancement for so many of us that would like to use Sonos without a network.
How do I setup sonos with my turntable system?
I bought sonos so I could set it up with my turntables and mixer system, doing away with my wired speakers and offering more flexibility. So far though I haven't had any joy in getting this correct. I did phone in a couple of weeks ago, but I didn't hear back. I have two technics 1210's connected to an Allen and Heath mixer which is then connected to a Cambridge Audio amp, which was then connected to two speakers. I have a Sonos Bridge, Sonos Connect and a play 5. If someone can help with instructions/diagrams on how this should be set up I would be delighted.
Free Raspberry Pi touch controller
Hi all, I recently created a free touchscreen controller for the Raspberry Pi that you can use with your own setup as a sort of dedicated, always ready, controller. Check it out if you like and let me know what you think. Enjoy! https://github.com/Villarrealized/sonos-pi-controller
DIY Repair your SONOS devices! YES WE CAN!
Greetings, I recently picked up a mint Sonos bundle, ZP100, bridge unit & controller for $35 at a salvation army surplus store. YES! What a greet deal your thinking, after testing at home, the only thing wrong with it is that left speaker terminal post was snapped off. Every thing else is working flawlessly. I decided to start a thread on doing general repairs on your SONOS equipment. Hence, currently I am searching online for original SONOS speaker terminals and have found that there is very little replacement vendors out there. But, if anyone out there who might know of a good resource, please post those links here and I'm sure this in hand is common and will help the next person. :)) Cheers! Futura2020
DJing with Sonos: a potential hack AKA solution
So I was interested in getting a connect/amp so I could link the master out of my DJ mixer to my Sonos setup in the living room which consists of a pair of Ones and a Beam. Browsing the community it appears that there is a delay on the Sonos playback which means the sound played back in headphones attached to mixer, whilst cueing and mixing, would be out of sync. For anyone who DJs, not what you want eh. So what we really need to get around this problem is for the headphone output of the mixer, to be delayed by the same amount as the Sonos setup. Now then. After a bit of googling I discovered this (below). Have a look and feedback comments. Essentially, using some phono and jack adapters from any hifi store or similar, I see no reason why you couldn’t insert this device in between the DJ mixer and the headphones. You could then adjust the delay (latency) and hey presto. It’s just an idea so why do you lot think? LINDY Lip Sync Corrector https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B005ZRWWJ0/ref=cm
advanced networking - connecting to my Sonos on a different subnet
backstory: -- i have a Sonos Playbase -- i have a firewall server box with 3 network cards: WAN, LAN, IOT -- i have a LAN subnet which is my desktop, laptop, and file server box. (macOS) -- i also have an IOT subnet which is stuff like Alexa, home automation, PS4, TV, and my Sonos. -- IOT cannot even see the LAN computers -- however, LAN can connect and ping/ssh/etc into any of the IOT as long as the connection originates on the LAN side. the basic issue is that i cannot get Sonos app, or Spotify app, (or the iOS Sonos app) on the LAN side to find my Playbase on IOT subnet. the Playbase has a static IP and i can ping it just fine from the LAN side. and my Echo can see the Playbase on the IOT side fine. (and i can play from Echo from Spotify on the Playbase) how do i get the Sonos app to connect to my Playbase on a different subnet? is there a port forward i can setup? can i emulate a Sonos device (in linux) on my LAN that forwards to IOT?
Simplified HTTP API (node.js)
Hi, I'm starting a new thread regarding this (old one here https://en.community.sonos.com/advanced-setups-229000/sonos-with-nodejs-my-attempt-33834) since that one grew out of hand. I have made some major improvements to the simple HTTP API that I've built, and it now also comes with a pre-composed raspberry pi image that runs from a RAM-drive (based on AlpineLinux) for even simpler installation. This software is useful for simple integration with home automation in mind, or for small hobby projects. For more information, see http://jishi.github.io/node-sonos-http-api/ File issues at github https://github.com/jishi/node-sonos-http-api/issues Have fun!
Adding SONOS to existing surround sound setup through a Marantz NR1504 Receiver - is it possible?
We have a Marantz NR1504 receiver that is connected to our cable internet and has a surround sound speaker system we use to play both music (usually Pandora, itunes and occasionally our record player) as well as tv/movies (cable, DVDs, Apple TV). We live in a small(ish) apartment but would like to play music in the kitchen and bedroom as well, and have been thinking about adding wireless speakers to those areas. SONOS is the most recommended, but it is a big investment and we want to make sure we can use it in ADDITION to our current surround sound system? If we entertain, we would like to find a way to seamlessly play music in the whole apartment. It looks like we can use a SONOS Connect, but we'll need to buy a SONOS speaker or two and we aren't sure they will play along with the current speakers. This is all a bit overwhelming, as there are so many models and audio cable terms we are unfamiliar with. Any suggestions in layman terms are most appreciated. This is our Marantz NR
Hooking up a chromecast to a Play:1 (Play:3) without line-in
I got tired of waiting for Sonos to get around to release some kind of cast support (they have good reasons not to too). Before I began this was my wish list:

Cast from android/iphone using chromecast,
it should start automatically when I cast,
have acceptable sound quality (I tried bluetooth with a similar setup but it sounded awful) and
be relatively cheap.
So, to the hardware:

chromecast audio (I would recommend getting a normal chromecast and extract the audio - the one I got has some limitations),
raspberry pi as transcoder (record output from chromecast and transform it into a mp3-stream that the sonos can handle)
(and a USB sound card because the raspberry has no line-in (got a behringer UCA202 which is supported)
Here is an image of the mess! :) After installing the standard raspbian (and running the raspi-config + apt update/upgrade) I proceeded to install pulseau
Sonos and Mesh Networks
Since adding BT Whole Home Wifi Discs to fix dead spots I have been having serious problems with Sonos components disappearing from the network. Looking around the forums, this seems to be a common problem, with most mesh systems, not just BT.One suggested solution seems to be to move over to connecting via SonosNet (with or without Boost). When I tried this by connecting one of my Sonos One devices to an Ethernet port it did seem to resolve the problem - except for the fact that the Roam won’t connect to SonosNet - only to WiFi.So basically we can’t win. Virtually all major network vendors are now moving over to mesh based systems, but Sonos won’t work properly with these - and the SonosNet workaround is ruled out by Sonos’ bizarre decision to not support this on the new battery powered devices. Is there any fix for this - apart from giving up on Sonos !?

Setting up Sonos on different subnets or VLANs
You might find this handy, if you have a linux box that handles connectivity between subnets... https://github.com/alsmith/ssdp-relay This relays the multicast SSDP packets that the app uses to locate the speakers between interfaces and allows discovery to function even if your telephone happens to be on a different network than your speakers. Sonos and AT&T U-verse
I have used my Sonos equipment for 10 months without any problem, it has worked perfectly with my Linksys Wireless router (and my previous DSL service). Yesterday however, I changed my internet/tv provider to AT&T U-verse and my Sonos Desktop Controller can no longer find my ZoneBridge or my ZonePlayers. Nothing seems to be working. AT&T U-verse comes with a wireless router which has replaced my old Linksys router (this is probably where the problem lies). Does anyone know the answer to this? My ZoneBridge is hardwired to the at&t "2wire" router, everything is physically hooked up correctly, but is not working (maybe an IP address problem). I appreciate any help that I can get, thanks. Update: for some reason, now the Sonos equipment has contact with the router ... everything seems to be working now EXCEPT for the Sonos DESKTOP Sontroller (which still is "searching for the Zonebridges/-players
Sub bass level adjustment
Hi all, my new sub arrived today, I have 2 S3's L and R and sub in my living room. I've adjusted my bass and treble in Eq menu which I'm guessing adjusts the bass and treble for the both my S3 and sub as a group, and it sounds ok. Then I discovered the bass adjustment in the advanced audio/Sub settings. It's currently set in the middle. Should I setup the sub bass level first then adjust the group bass and treble in the Eq menu after or visa versa? Or is the sub bass best left alone? I've completed the sound set up with my phone for sound calibration etc. Btw, I do like a punchy bass sound. Thanks in advance for your comments! Samzie
Samsung tv,Sonos Beam, dolby digital - HELP!!
Wondering if someone can please explain what I need to do to get Dolby digital setting on my samsung tv. The Dolby digital option is greyed out and won’t let me change to anything only thing it allows me to select is pcm. I’m using a beam and 2x play ones in the about my sonos section of the app it says my audio input is stereo. There doesn’t seem to be a way for me to change my tv settings, when I try and change them on my Xbox it says to make sure my receiver is able to support (5.1 uncompressed) and when I change my sky a settings to Dolby digital the sound from the soundbar stops. I seem to only be able to receive stereo with this beam and it’s very frustrating
More than one remote to control volume on playbar
Hi, I have an LG OLED TV and Xfinity. Is there a way to have two remotes control the volume on playbar setting (+sub+suround)? or can I only choose one? when we watch Xfinity we prefer to use Xfinity remote for X1 voice control that the LG Magic remote doesn't support, but then its annoying to back to LG remote for volume. Google wifi and 3rd party router
I have Sonos working fine with my existing network, and I use HomeSeer home automation to control it (things like announcing when someone unlocks the front door). The wifi is terrible in our house, so yesterday I installed Google WiFi to have the mesh network so we can seamlessly move between them. Now I cannot work out how to have both HomeSeer (running on PC on original network) accessing Sonos AND have it working from my phone (on the wireless). If I set Sonos up wirelessly it works fine, and is visible for control for my phone, but Sonos desktop and HomeSeer cannot see it. If I set Sonos up wired (original network) then Sonos desktop and HomeSeer can see it, but the Sonos app on my phone insists it doesn't exist. Google WiFi won't work in bridge mode and still have the mesh network. My phone (on the wifi) is able to connect back to my main PC (HomeSeer runs on 192.168.1.3@1000), so it looks like it is open in one direction, or has the right port-forwarding set up, but I can
Whole House Audio Setup (Sonos integration)
Building a new home and went with a modest amount of distributed audio in the house but will be bringing 3 Sonos Play 1s to the new house. Here is the setup. How will I need to power the in-ceiling speakers and utilize the best setup for whole-home setup. Outdoor Living area- Set of in-ceiling speakers Kitchen- Set of in-ceiling speakers Master Bath- Set of in-ceiling speakers Master Bedroom- Two Play 1 sonos wireless speakers Office- 1 sonos Play 1. Living Room- I may get a Sonos Playbar but hate how tall and bulky it is. Has anyone utilized a smaller, sleeker surround bar directly connected to the TV above it, but then connected it to a sonos Connect that way it serves dual purpose. Connected directly to the TV for better TV sound but the Connect allows it to be used as a sound source in that room. Could easily add sonos wireless speakers to other rooms and switching and powering them is a moot point. My question is the 3 rooms listed above that will be routed back
Sonos One (Gen 2): How to connect to Macbook bluetooth WITHOUT going through app
I want to be able to connect my Sonos to my macbook pro (2018) to the bluetooth so I can use it for all sound, not just music or things that can airdrop. For instance I would like to be able to use it when listening to youtube video rather than my computer. Youtube video doesn’t have airdrop. I’ve already gone to the bluetooth settings and tried to have it look for it, but it doesn’t even notice it’s there. Yes I pushed the button on the back of the sonos. I was able to do this with my moms HP computer and theoretically it should work on mine too, but it’s not working. It does work with my phone and the macbook app, but not the bluetooth.
Sonos and Doorbell Integration
Have multi zone Sonos system and looking for a solution to have doorbell sound out over speakers. Found discussion regarding using a Viking SLP-1 or SLP-4 to accomplish this: http://www.remotecentral.com/cgi-bin/mboard/rc-custom/thread.cgi?23394 The SLP-4 has multiple doorbell sound options and runs ~$450 but does a lot of things not needed. Rather spend this cash on something else like another Connect:Amp. Any other options on this?
