I've heard online that uPnP isn't a very secure protocol and i was wondering, if i disable it in my network settings, will it break sonos completely?

There are various flavours of UPnP. Sonos uses UPnP AV locally, which is not an issue.

You will have read of UPnP Gateway Device control in your router, which is entirely different. This is a notorious attack vector, and you should turn it off. Doing so shouldn't affect the Sonos system.

(There were once reports where, due to badly written firmware, a router UPnP setting could affect Sonos controllers' ability to find the players, but this is largely a thing of the past.)
